Stacked Log Cabin Workshop

We have just spent the last 2 days having a great time creating Stacked Log Cabin quilt tops. We ended up with 1 completed Quilt top and a few others that were pretty close. 

Ronda and Kaylene were angels and brought us some yummy morning and afternoon tea for both days. Thank you ladies, we loved your cooking. Delicious!!!!

Progress!

Whoo Hooo!

All blocks have now been finished for my Fancy Forest Quilt and it's time to start putting them all together. I am going to be putting the quilt together as a Quilt -As-You-Go.

This means that I have followed the instructions in the book up to making the Quadrants. Now that they are in their quandrant I am going to be quilting each quarter on my Brother NV-1800Q machine.

When I am finished I will put up the method I used to join the four Quilt Quarters together. We have just 4 of these fabulous kits left so don't wait too long to either join our Block Of the Month program or purchase your full kit but for now, I'll leave you with these pretty pictures...

New Year and New Blocks

Happy New Year everyone!

I hope that you've had a lovely Christmas and enjoyed a short break from the 9 to 5.

I am so excited to share some of the photos from our newest Block Of the Month we are offering. It is Fancy Forest by Elizabeth Hartman and we are offering it as a Fabric Only BOM. Never fear though, we do have the book/pattern for Sale over in our Shop.

Month 1 is the Fox blocks. You will receive the background, black and white fabrics for all 16 Fox blocks and the fabrics from Group A to complete 2 Fox blocks.

Month 2 you will receive all the other colours from Groups B - H to make the remaining 14 Foxes. Don't they look gorgeous?!

Month 3 and 4 you will be working on the Hazel Hedgehog blocks. 

Month 5 and 6 will be the Bunny Blocks.

 Month 7 and 8 are the Allie Owl blocks.

Month 9 and 10 are the Firefly blocks. This has been my most favourite block of the whole quilt. Love Love Love

 In the final month 11 you will make the Thistle blocks and receive the final fabrics for sashing and binding. I have only just begun the Thistle Blocks but will have a photo to add soon I hope, so that I can put them all together to finish this gorgeous quilt.

You are able to purchase this Quilt Kit as a full kit, or you can purchase it as a BOM program. It's no worries if you already own the pattern as our kits are provided Fabric Only. The book is available to purchase on our website seperately.

Farmers Wife Sampler Quilt Week 6

So sorry it has been a while since we've checked in. I've had a few custom jobs weighing on me that really needed to get done as well as a craft camp to attend!

So at our craft camp I learnt the art of paper piecing. Something I wasn't sure how I'd go with. But I can honestly say that I am LOVING it. So here are some of the blocks from the book that I have paper pieced. 

The secret to such a successful time can be contributed to my teacher at camp, so thank you Clare, and this awesome tool. 

It's the add a quarter ruler that we have instock now and it is wonderful. A must for every foundation paper piecer out there. 

ABC boys quilt FINISHED

Well, almost finished. It needs to be quilted and bound but the main part is done. 

30 little blocks later and it is done. My favourite is the B block. Sooo cute. 

Oh and did I say before I would get the girls version going once this one was finished? 

Ta-da. Kits are all done and available now but we thought it would be nice to have a store sample. So here goes.

Well hello March. Nice to see you. I can't wait for the cooler Autumn weather to begin. 

This month our Christmas Club ladies are making a half apron. This is perfect for protecting your clothes while baking or just for getting you in the festive spirit.

FWSQ Week 5

I hope you all have been having fun with these little blocks. 

For number 6 I used 3" thangles. I made 8 and then joined 2 HSTs together to make the quarter square blocks. 

This is our first tiny square block. These 1" HSTs are ridiculously cute. 

I had a bit of trouble getting this one. Let me know how you go. 

#11 has used 1.5" thangles.

ABC boys quilt BOM progress

So I have spent the day preparing all the remaining blocks for this delightful little quilt. 

There is 14 left out of 30. But I figured the hard part is now done, so it is my goal to complete a block a day for the next fortnight to finish off this beauty. 

I do like to get all the prep done no matter what project I am working on at the beginning. 

So here's Sunday's block, check!

And of course because it's Sunday, it's yoga day and I thought I'd share my lnew mat bag I finished this week. It has an internal divider to keep my mat rolled and then has HEAPS of storage on the other side for towels, drink bottles, keys, wallet, yoga blocks and straps too!!
